There are no doubts that technology made our lives easier especially when it comes to communication. We don't have to send a letter across the ocean and wait 3 months for it to reach the addressee (or send a pigeon with a letter like very old days and hope that it survives the journey ;-) ). Instead we send an email and get the message across in a matter of seconds. Thanks to the mobile phone we can constantly be in touch with our loved ones, make international business easily and stay in touch with friends and family. As technology continues to advance however, are we as people, moving forward or backward in regards to our social skills? 'Verbal communication” is beginning to diminish as texting and tweeting become a more prevalent and preferred way of life. |
I truly believe that all this technology has a place in today’s world. But, we cannot use it as a crutch to withdraw ourselves from personal conversations. There are still many people who enjoy and need some good old conversation. Keep the balance dear Atria.
