Dear Atria, let me introduce to you a collared lory. I 'met' this little, colourful bird at the San Diego ZOO while visiting with Baba. We both found this creature very charming and beautiful. Apparently collared lories are type of parrots. They are native to the Fiji Islands. In wild they usually live in pairs or small groups of 4-6 birds, but also bigger groups up to 50 birds can be spotted. They eat soft fruits like mangoes, nectar, pollen, and small insects like caterpillars. A collared lory measures about 20 cm (8 in), it has bright red underparts and face with a purple crown and greenish upper parts. I think they are very pretty; what do you think Atria?
I am your dad Atria.
