I am right now sharing sorrow and grief of my best friend who lost her dear one. Seeing her pain and knowing her feelings makes me think of life, its important values and the gratitude which we sometimes lack.
Very often we appreciate what we have only after when we have lost it. There have been times I have met people complaining about their house, their car, their food, their job, how long they have to walk, etc., not realising that there are people in the world that don't have or cannot do some of those things.
I sometimes complain about my knee, shoulder or hand pain, but when I see a person on the wheelchair with no legs, my view changes and I become greatful that at least I have legs, shoulders and hands and that I can use them.
Also, although we acknowledge that immortality is a myth, we do act as if those close to us are going to be around for foreseeable future. The truth is that they are not going to be in our lives forever and we cannot take them for granted. We should be grateful for having them and show them our love and care while we can.
My dear Atria be grateful for everything you have and all the people who love you.
