How do you like my new look dear Atria? -:) I bought this new glasses just to have a laugh and I put them on in the shop. I was wearing them all the way home - first walking to the bus stop through the busy town and then in the bus. People were looking at me and some of them were smiling, some were looking at me with eyes wide open like they couldn't believe what they see and some were probably thinking I am crazy. But most if the people were smiling and I suppose seeing me brighten their days a little - such a small thing and so much joy. How do you like it my dear Atria? Shall I wear it all the time? What do you think? -:) |
Dear Atria, I have written to you before about meerkats and also of a very clever insurance comparison website advertising campaign based on a supposed spelling mistake between words ‘market’ and ‘meerkat’, the campaign that introduced meerkat Alexandr Orlov and his furry friends. Now, when you buy any type of insurance through comparethemarket.com you will be able to choose a meerkat toy. If you like them you can ask your Mum to first check the prices of her house insurance or any other insurance she may require on this website and if the price is good and she is happy to proceed she can order a meerkat for you. Below is Anna’s collection of meerkat toys and if you like any of them write to me - Anna said she will be happy to give them to you if you like them. They are Yakov, Sergei and Alexandr. Here it is how Alexandr Orlov himself introduces himself and his friends. Aleksandr Orlov - Esteemed founder and CEO of comparethemeerkat.com Sergei - Head of IT Yakov If you want to learn more about them you can visit Merkovo Village website here.
Dear Atria,
Today is 5th November - Bonfire Night. You may see a lot of fireworks this evening and enjoy watching colorful displays. But do you know where Bonfire Night tradition came from? It actually marks the anniversary of the discovery of a plot organised by Catholic conspirators to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London in 1605. Bonfire Night is also referred to as Guy Fawkes Night as Guy Fawkes was one of the people responsible for the plot. The explosives would have been set off when King James I of England (King James VI of Scotland) and many parliamentary members were in the building. The conspirators were later arrested, tortured and executed. So Bonfire Night celebrates the foiling of an attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament. I hope you will have nice time tonight watching colorful fireworks with your Mum. Make sure you are safe and you don’t come too close to the display. Dear Atria,
Did you celebrate Halloween this year? Did you carved a pumpkin with your Mum? Did you go ‘trick-or-treating’ with your friends? I hope you had a nice day whatever you were doing. I didn’t dress up this year - you might say that it was because I don’t need a costume as my everyday appearance is just fine for Halloween :-) but this wasn’t the reason. I was alone and didn’t feel like dressing up. But I had a pumpkin. Anna drawn it for me couple of days earlier and I carved it and used the pumpkin to cook a pumpkin soup. I will be probably still eating it for the next couple of weeks :-) You can see my pumpkin in the picture - I hope you like it and I think this time it is obvious what it is. Happy Halloween my dear daughter :-) |
