Dear Atria, In this photograph you can see Baba posing with a statue of Albert Einstein at the Griffiths Observatory. Surely you know who Albert Einstein was... he was a German-born physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, among other feats. He is considered the most influential physicist of the 20th century. Anna is currently reading out loud for me his biography by Walter Isaacson. It's a fascinating lecture and I will write more about it when we finish the book. Check out Walter Isaacson, he is a very good writer and I recommend his books highly. He also wrote a fascinating, detailed and extremely interesting biography of Steve Jobs. Anna read it to me last year and although I never was particularly interested in Steve Jobs' life I found that book mesmerizing. It's not only a very comprehensive account on his private life from birth almost to death, but also a detailed chronology of development of computer technology, Silicon Valley growth and a history of Apple. |
Below I gathered for you some of Einstein's famous quotes which I hope you may like:
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.
Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.
If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.
Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
